1. Role Overview
Mercor is partnering with a leading AI research group to engage accounting professionals in a high-impact project focused on training and refining cutting-edge AI systems. This opportunity involves contributing high-quality annotations and critiques across diverse formatsincluding text voice and videoon advanced accounting concepts. Experts will work on challenging tasks in areas such as financial reporting audit standards tax strategies and ESG reporting. This is a full-time contracted position suitable for individuals with a strong academic or professional background in accounting.
2. Key Responsibilities
Use proprietary software to label annotate and evaluate AI-generated outputs related to accounting
Solve and critique problems in areas such as forensic analysis managerial budgeting and quantitative finance
Record short audio or video segments as part of model training datasets
Work closely with technical teams to refine annotation workflows and tools
Adapt to evolving task instructions and apply sound judgment with limited information
3. Ideal Qualifications
Masters degree PhD or CPA in Accounting or a closely related field
Strong command of accounting research tools (e.g. FASB Codification IRS publications EDGAR)
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Ability to work independently and interpret complex task instructions
Demonstrated interest in accounting technology or innovation
4. More About the Opportunity
Remote or in-person (Palo Alto CA); in-office requires 5 days/week
Initial schedule: 9:00am5:30pm PST for two weeks; then your local timezone
Personal computer must be a Chromebook Mac (macOS 11) or Windows 10 device
Reliable smartphone access required
U.S.-based applicants must reside outside of Wyoming and Illinois
5. Compensation & Contract Terms
$90000$200000 per year for U.S.-based professionals depending on experience and location
International pay rates available upon request
Payments issued regularly for services rendered
