Job Description

Description Regional law firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area has an immediate opening for a part-time Attorney on a contract basis. This hybrid role based in Redwood City, California offers flexibility, with remote work as the primary mode and occasional office visits when necessary. The position requires a minimum of 20 hours per week and offers an excellent opportunity to engage in both substantive legal tasks and document review for various litigation defense practice areas. The ideal candidate will hold an active CA Bar license, have at least 2-5+ years of experience in civil litigation, and experience using eDiscovery tools such as Relativity. Responsibilities: - Conduct thorough legal research and draft comprehensive motions and pleadings. - Manage discovery processes, including the organization and review of documentation. - Utilize eDiscovery tools such as Relativity to analyze and manage large volumes of legal documents. - Participate in deposition preparation, ensuring effective preparation and execution. - Handle civil litigation tasks, balancing substantive legal work with document review. - Prepare detailed legal analyses and written reports to support ongoing cases. - Collaborate with the legal team to develop strategies for case management and resolution. - Ensure compliance with legal standards and deadlines throughout all phases of litigation. - Provide expert insight on case law and procedural rules to strengthen legal arguments. Requirements - Must hold a valid attorney license and have at least 3 years of relevant experience. - Demonstrated expertise in civil litigation, including pleadings and discovery. - Proficiency in legal research and writing, with a strong ability to draft motions. - Familiarity with eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity. - Experience managing document-intensive cases and handling large volumes of legal files. - Ability to participate in depositions and contribute to case strategy. - Strong organizational skills to manage deadlines and multitask effectively. - Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with team members.
