Transforming the Future with Convergence of Simulation and Data Our client in the Glendale / Burbank, CA Area is looking for a Design Drafter. This is a Contract position.
Components: Aerospace pneumatic ducting, fuel and oil lines, bracketry.
To prepare 3D models and drawings using Catia V5 R21 to R32. Performs checking functions and can coordinate designs with both project and manufacturing engineers.
Software = CATIA V5 (no other alternatives; this will be the primary software used)
Years of Exp = Minimum 5 years (10 yrs preferred)
Industries = Aerospace highly preferred and Automotive as next best alternative
Duties and Deliverables = 3D CAD Models, Annotated Models, 2D Engineering Drawings
Qualifications - Knowledgeable of Catia V5 as it relates to company design needs.
- Skilled in all facets of 3D modeling in Catia V5. Should be at an “expert” level in creating sketch-based solids and geometric surfacing.
- Creates complex and simple detail, sub-assembly, and top assembly drawings.
- Writes engineering orders and makes changes to existing drawings.
- Creates assemblies and drawings for test procedures.
- Knowledgeable in ACS (aircraft coordinate systems) and can design components using ACS or local coordinates.
- Knowledge of Catia FTA workbench and MBD (Model Based Definition) and its applications in the aerospace engineering environment and documentation.
- Performs weight calculations (hand or Catia V5).
- Performs design checks of models and drawings created by other drafters.
- Strong understanding of GD&T practices per ASME and ANSI standards.
- Manufacturing knowledge in the machining of metallic components and sheet metal forming.
- Creates tooling models and drawings.
- Aids the shop, customers and vendors in reading and interpreting company and customer drawings to facilitate manufacturing.
- Develop assembly BOMs.
- Experience with PLM software (Enovia) and configuration management practices (preferred).
- Performs tolerance stack-ups and interference checks as needed (preferred).

- Must be a US Cit or Greencard Holder
- 100% onsite
- Salary: $35-$50/hr.
