Under limited supervision, performs skilled work at the journeyman level including maintenance, construction, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial and commercial electrical systems to include: service entrance sections, main switchgear and breakers, panel boards and breakers, disconnects, conduit and wiring systems, grounding equipment, transfer switches, UPS units, emergency generators, lighting systems, low voltage and DC systems, variable frequency drives, and other electronic equipment and circuitry. Working knowledge of the NEC, NFPA 70E, and EEW work requirements. Perform work on a variety of electrical systems including low voltage systems and ranging to systems which may exceed 480 Volts. Demonstrates a full understanding of building maintenance processes, systems and equipment, with a strong working knowledge of problem solving techniques, diagnosing, and troubleshooting. Must possess the ability to work in a team environment that places a high value on customer service of multiple shop and administrative facilities. Duties include leadership responsibilities and directs the work of others in the performance of duties. Identifies and develops ways to improve technical processes and recommends methods for improvements. Exercises considerable technical expertise and latitude in determining objectives and approaches to work assignments.

Considerable courtesy and cooperation is required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees and customers. Ability to work effectively in a team environment to achieve common goals. Ability to employ safe working practices under all conditions. Ability to understand, carry out, and explain basic oral and written instructions. Ability to perform work functions with limited direct supervision. Ability to effectively work under varying schedules, imposed deadlines and under emergency conditions. Basic understanding of job costs and ability to work within a budget allocation. Have in-depth knowledge of electrical instruments, tools, and test equipment (multi meters, megohmmeters, phase/rotation meters, etc.) to perform troubleshooting and make repairs.
Must obtain respirator C certification (within 6 months). Must obtain man lift and bucket truck certifications (within 6 months). Must obtain forklift certifications - various types/sizes (within 6 months). Must obtain IR Level I certification (within 6 months). Have completed a recognized journeyman level Electrician training program or possess equivalent skill, knowledge and experience in electrical troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance on electrical systems and equipment. Equivalent experience must be equal to completion of a two-year AA degree with emphasis in electrical systems and completion of five years of related journeyman level work experience.
3 to 5 years of experience as an Electrician or an O&M 3 T/A – Electrical or equivalent experience.
High School, GED or Equivalent.
Must possess an Infrared Level I certification.
Must possess the appropriate valid Arizona driver’s license.

Hybrid Workplace
SRP currently offers a hybrid workplace, which allows employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, to telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
