This is an entry level position that is responsible for day-to-day activities of collecting discharged records, prepping, and scanning into the electronic medical record and/or other designated systems. A qualified candidate is expected to verify the correct patient's medical record and account numbers are assigned to each document in the electronic medical record. Perform all assigned duties in a timely manner so the medical record is accessible for treatment, payment and healthcare operations. The Tech I applicant is also required to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of protected health information and adhere to the policies that govern the Health Information Management department.
