Plant Engineer

Job Description

Responsible for all equipment installations, modifications, plant engineering support, and project engineering. This role will primarily be in the melt shop part of the facility.

Responsibilities

• Project engineering responsibilities: Experience with streamlined Project Management workflows and conducting FEL studies, preliminary evaluation, project design, cost estimation, cost control, work with Engineering for capital project development, evaluation, project scheduling and coordination, installation and debugging.

• Engineering responsibilities: Analyze repetitive equipment failures and design solutions to reduce estimation of maintenance costs and evaluation of alternatives, assess the needs for equipment replacements and establish replacement programs when due, assess required maintenance tools and skills required for efficient maintenance of equipment, assess and report safety hazards associated with all plant equipment (maintenance and production), analyze equipment performance relative to production requirements, implementation of designs or practice changes through hands-on involvement, responsible for training full-time employees, contractors, and agency employees, assist with other duties as assigned by Management.

• Management Responsibilities: Work with the assigned Plant Maintenance Area to develop and recommend budget, develop short and long-range operating objectives, assure that training and development needs are identified, and programs initiated, ensure that the company's values, policies, and programs are consistently practiced.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering

• Additional training in Project Engineering and/or Project Management

• 3-5 years of progressive experience in project engineering roles in a heavy industrial environment

• Working knowledge of general plant construction practices, building construction, installation of equipment, etc.

• Knowledge of OSHA and general EPA regulations

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must be available for emergencies and work off-shift hours as needed

• Experience in the chemical, steel, or cement industry is ideal

Work Environment

Manufacturing facility for Metal Powders.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.48 - $50.48/hr.
