Position Overview
Fellowship Bible Church of Oskaloosa, IA is seeking a Full-Time Student Ministries Pastor to lead and guide students (7th-12th grade) in their spiritual journey. The Student Ministries Pastor will play a crucial role in helping students align with the vision of the church while building meaningful relationships, discipling students, and serving as an example of Christ. This position will collaborate closely with the elders, deacons, staff and church body to advance Fellowship Bible Church’s mission to “Know Him and Make Him Known.”

Qualifications

Spiritual:

• A born-again believer in Jesus Christ with a personal profession of faith and evidence of God’s calling to student ministry.
• Lives consistently with the biblical standards outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
• Demonstrates a growing relationship with Christ, exemplifying prayer, biblical study, and a Christ-like leadership pattern.
• Shows evidence of being led by the Holy Spirit in all personal and ministry aspects.

Professional:

• Strong servant-leadership, relational, teaching, discipleship, and administrative skills.
• Agreement with Fellowship Bible Church’s Doctrinal Statement and full support of the church’s Constitution and Bylaws.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Youth Ministries or equivalent training from an accredited institution.
• Experience in youth ministry and program development preferred.

Personal:

• Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).
• Well-organized, disciplined in spiritual and personal life, with a strong prayer and devotional life.
• Exhibits warmth, friendliness, empathy, sincerity, humility, and teachability.
• Committed to outreach, missions, and local/global ministry opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Provide regular discipleship for middle and high school students through Bible study.
• Offer pastoral care and counseling to youth and their families.
• Build relationships with students outside of scheduled events such as Sunday morning and Wednesday night services.
• Serve as the primary teacher for Sunday School and Wednesday night youth group.
• Develop and implement an ongoing evaluation process for youth ministry, including lesson plans, mission trips, and activities.
• Pursue continued education opportunities with support from pastoral staff and the Elder board.
• Plan and oversee youth retreats and an annual mission trip.
• Contribute to Fellowship Bible Church’s Vacation Bible School.
• Organize and lead a Youth Ministry team to train and equip students to serve in the church and youth group.
• Collaborate with other ministries within Fellowship Bible Church as needed.
• Recruit and encourage adult leaders to serve as youth sponsors.
