Job Description

SUMMARY  

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for daily execution of the raw materials warehouse operations plan. The Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations within the raw material warehouse including; safety management, production fulfillment, inbound freight verification, warehouse and production system data maintenance, people supervision, maintains material warehouse space maximization, raw material inventory verification, project execution as assigned. 

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Executes and oversees the day-to-day operations and resource allocation in accordance with the direction from the Warehouse Manager. 
  • Clearly communicates day-to-day work responsibilities and ensures staff accountability and safety in accordance to company policies and standard work execution, and enforces disciplinary actions as needed. 
  • Assists with performance evaluations for assigned staff timely and in accordance with company policy. 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES  

  • Monitors departmental performance, identifying and facilitating opportunities to increase productivity and efficiency. 
  • Manages daily aspects of the department and its staff to ensure daily work is completed timely and safely, department and company goals are met. 
  • Collaborates cross functionally to effectively execute workflows and day-to-day tasks.
  • Ensures production fulfillment, raw material processing and timely receipt of inbound products. 
  • Manages conflicts and resolves complaints about or within their team. 
  • Performs other related duties as instructed or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to hold employees accountable to company and safety standards. 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively. 
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to assign and delegate tasks. 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • High School Diploma and relevant experience in related field is required. 
  • Three (3) years of related experience in the industry preferred. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT  

The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

  • Most of the time is spent in the production plant, scrap yard and warehouse center. The environment will include working on the plant production floor and outside, where there is weather and non-weather-related hot or humid conditions, extreme cold, working near moving mechanical parts or equipment. 
  • The noise level in the work environment is quiet in the office, but can be loud when on the production floor, warehouse or loading areas. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer when in the office. 
  • Prolonged periods walking around a foundry, warehouse or in a scrap yard. 
  • Prolonged periods of using a forklift may be needed. 
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • This position will require the use and wear of all PPE and safety equipment.
