Position
Rocky Mountain Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Molecular Assistant to support daily operations within our molecular diagnostics laboratory. This is an excellent entry-level laboratory opportunity for individuals who have completed or are currently completing degrees in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related fields. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and eager to grow within a clinical lab environment.

Schedule:
Full-time, Monday–Friday
Shift will be either 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with processing, labeling, documenting, and organizing clinical samples for molecular testing
• Track scheduled tasks, including equipment and machine maintenance
• Follow all SOPs and accurately complete required documentation and logs
• Organize laboratory supplies, reagents, consumables, and maintain inventory levels
• Assist with reagent preparation and basic laboratory workflows (training provided)
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance across the laboratory
• Support quality control procedures, equipment checks, and documentation
• Enter data into spreadsheets, LIS systems, logs, and tracking tools
• Answer phones, voicemails, and emails professionally
• Support troubleshooting, workflow improvements, and communication within the team
• Track testing status and notify supervisors of pending or delayed orders
• Assist with receiving shipments, unpacking supplies, labeling items, and restocking
• Participate in team meetings, providing updates and suggestions for improvement
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
• Ability to follow SOPs and document work accurately
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and data entry tools
• Ability to work safely and maintain a clean, compliant laboratory environment
• High school diploma required

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework, training, or experience in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, or Biotechnology
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) in a science-related field
• Familiarity with basic wet-lab skills such as pipetting, sample handling, or sterile technique
• Experience working in a clinical, research, academic, or diagnostic laboratory setting
• Knowledge of laboratory recordkeeping, inventory, or quality assurance practices
• Interest in pursuing a career in molecular diagnostics, clinical laboratory science, or laboratory operations

Job Type:
Full-time, W2

Salary:
$18.00 – $19.50 per hour , depending on experience
