Urban Grub is seeking an Experienced Pastry Prep Cook with a passion for creating outstanding pastry dishes. The ideal candidate should be proficient in baking and pastry techniques, maintain a high standard of quality, and excel in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role involves creating pastry dishes based on our Pastry Chef's specifications, prepping ingredients, and maintaining a clean, efficient baking station.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare pastry dishes in accordance with Chef's specifications, ensuring consistent quality.
• Prepare all formulas in accordance with Chef's specification, ensuring consistent quality.
• Maintain a clean and organized baking station, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Prep daily mise en place, setting up your station for success.
• Follow proper food handling and sanitation standards to guarantee guest safety.
• Cooperate with team members to ensure efficient kitchen operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of baking experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in the baking/pastry section.
• Proficiency in baking techniques and pastry preparation.
• Understanding of baking methodologies and ability to follow complex recipes.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Food handler's certification, or ability to obtain one.
• Flexibility to work in various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.

What once was a little carwash on the corner of 12th and Gilmore is now a dominating presence in the 12 south District. They could see it but not many could, Jay Pennington from an operational standpoint where Billy Inman sees things from an esthetics point of view, working together things made sense. The design and concept evolved over the 13 months it took to take a little carwash to the multi-environment restaurant/bar/patio/beer garden that opened in April 2012. Urban Grub offers a feeling of coziness with its private cabanas and its many fire pits as well as the open air atmosphere in the beer garden with in-outdoor bar. All custom designs, there is something new and beautiful to be found around each corner.
