Job Description

Advanced Systems Design is seeking a Programmer Analyst   for our client located in Montgomery, AL.

This position is onsite in Montgomery, AL, and requires in-person availability starting day 1.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a technically skilled IT System Specialist with strong hands-on experience in SQL development, ERP systems, and application integrations. This is a technical analyst/developer role, not a project management position. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working directly with data, integrations, and application interfaces, and will be able to design, build, and troubleshoot SQL-based and file-based solutions.

Experience with Boomi and GoAnywhere is highly desirable but not required.

Must be able to demonstrate real, tangible technical skills in SQL and system integrations.

This position supports multiple enterprise platforms, including financial, purchasing, grant management, and HR/timekeeping systems, as well as the GoAnywhere file transfer platform.

This role is best suited for candidates who actively build and troubleshoot technical solutions. Applicants whose experience is primarily project management, coordination, or oversight without hands-on SQL or integration work will not be a match for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and support SQL queries, SSIS packages, stored procedures, reports, and database structures to ensure data accuracy and high system performance.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot data issues across ERP, integration, and reporting systems.
  • Develop and support application integrations using platforms such as Boomi, GoAnywhere, APIs, and file-based transfers.
  • Perform testing and debugging of integrations, web applications, and SQL scripts to ensure reliability and scalability.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including interface designs, process flow diagrams, and configuration guides.
  • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions — not just requirements documents.
  • Manage and document work through ServiceNow or equivalent task-tracking systems, ensuring clear, auditable technical records of analysis and resolution.
  • Provide knowledge sharing and system support to ensure effective use of implemented solutions.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience as a System Analyst, Integration Specialist, or SQL Developer.
  • Proven proficiency with SQL (queries, stored procedures, joins, functions, DML/DDL commands) and understanding of database design principles.
  • Experience supporting or integrating with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, UKG, STAARS, Ivalua, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with demonstrable experience in troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • Experience managing workload and documentation in ServiceNow or similar ticketing platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Hands-on experience with Boomi, GoAnywhere, API-based integrations, or ETL tools.
  • Working knowledge of integration or file transfer platforms such as Boomi and GoAnywhere.
  • Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, UKG, Ivalua).
  • Experience developing scripts in Python, Java, or C# for automation and system support.
  • Exposure to data visualization or reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Certifications in SQL Server, Boomi, or cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
  • Experience with test automation or regression testing platforms such as TestSavvy.

Education Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
