Job Description

We are seeking a proactive, friendly, and diligent Barista to serve as the welcoming face of our café and deliver an exceptional guest experience. This part-time role (20–30 hours per week, Monday–Sunday) is responsible for expertly crafting beverages, providing outstanding hospitality, and maintaining a clean, inviting environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee, skilled in fast-paced service, and committed to creating memorable interactions with every guest. This position is performed on-site in San Francisco, CA (94158) and requires the ability to commute or relocate prior to starting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring every guest has a positive and memorable experience.
2. Take orders accurately and enter them into the POS system.
3. Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, and brewing techniques to answer questions and make informed recommendations.
4. Prepare beverages to the highest quality standards, following recipes and presentation guidelines.
5. Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other equipment safely and efficiently.
6. Maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized café environment.
7. Ensure all display foods are merchandised attractively and in accordance with standards.
8. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols to ensure guest health and compliance.
9. Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed to support smooth operations.

Job Requirements

1. Previous barista experience required.
2. Knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and latte art is a plus.
3. Familiarity with Square POS preferred.
4. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage guests in a friendly and professional manner.
5. Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
6. Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
8. Passion for coffee and eagerness to continue learning.
9. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs .
10. Ability to commute to San Francisco, CA 94158 or relocate prior to starting .

Salary Range: $22/hr - $23/hr
